Shape, pair, and sole
Look for both sides, toe, heel, outsole, interior or insole information, pair alignment, and a readable size reference.
Seven checks, one decision
A row does not need to be perfect. It does need enough category-relevant evidence to justify more research. Use this checklist before the shortlist gets crowded.
Give the row one point for each checklist statement it satisfies with visible evidence. A score of 6–7 is a strong shortlist candidate, 4–5 needs more research, 2–3 is weak, and 0–1 should be removed for now.
Pre-save test
Count a point only when the row or linked evidence answers the statement clearly. Do not award points based on an assumption, a familiar name, or popularity.
No false precision
The score is a filter, not a quality rating. It measures whether the row gives you enough information to keep researching. It does not verify the item, seller, platform, or likely outcome.
If a critical measurement is missing, it can outweigh a good total. Use judgment when one unanswered question could change the whole decision.
Photos must answer questions
QC photos are useful only when they show the details that matter and clearly correspond to the same product or variant. A QC finder, QC photo finder, or quality check page is a discovery aid—not a guarantee.
Look for both sides, toe, heel, outsole, interior or insole information, pair alignment, and a readable size reference.
Look for front, back, sides, base, interior, seams, hardware, closures, and measurements that show actual scale.
Look for chest, length, sleeve, waist, rise, or inseam measurements as relevant, plus seams, hem, closures, and fabric context.
Look for case or item dimensions, dial or surface detail, clasp, underside, finish, and scale against a measurement reference.
Look for dimensions, closure, edges, surface finish, included parts, and enough angles to understand shape.
Look for connectors, labels, included parts, dimensions, plug details, and evidence that the device matches the required standard.
Method example
This hypothetical example shows how the checklist works. It is not a real listing, recommendation, review, or verification.
| Checklist point | Visible evidence | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Clearly labeled as a lightweight zip hoodie. | 1 point |
| Photos | Front, back, zipper, cuffs, seams, and hood are shown. | 1 point |
| Sizing | Chest, length, and sleeve measurements are visible. | 1 point |
| Price context | Compared with three similar-weight hoodies. | 1 point |
| Weight | Item weight is shown; packaging remains an estimate. | 1 point |
| Clarity | The label describes the item without exaggerated claims. | 1 point |
| Save reason | “Best measurement detail and the clearest construction photos.” | 1 point |
Score: 7. Strong shortlist candidate, but still not verified and not a reason to skip checking the external page.
Method example
A low score means the row does not currently support more attention. It does not prove that the underlying item is bad.
| Checklist point | Visible evidence | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Category | Vague “top” label with no product type. | 0 points |
| Photos | One styled image, no detail views. | 0 points |
| Sizing | Only S/M/L labels. | 0 points |
| Price context | Described as cheap without comparable rows. | 0 points |
| Weight | No item or package context. | 0 points |
| Clarity | Label relies on hype. | 0 points |
| Save reason | “Everyone is sharing it.” | 0 points |
Score: 0. Remove for now. If better evidence appears later, score the row again from scratch.
One-sentence save rule
Finish the sentence with a concrete difference: clearer measurements, better category-specific photos, more sensible price context, or manageable weight. If you can only say that it looks popular, cheap, or exciting, do not save it yet.
After scoring
For a 6–7, inspect the current external details and compare the candidate with one or two close alternatives. For a 4–5, search specifically for the missing evidence. For 0–3, remove the row from the active shortlist.
